3.11g. 22mm. UNC/UNC. A gorgeous, lustrous specimen displaying traces of original mint red complemented by attractive brown toning. Obverse - Die of a 1709 Pomeranian ducat, SMB 220 XR. Hildebrand 180; SKM 279c; Delzanno Gold Coins from Sweden 49-50. A very rare and intriguing copper ducat from the reign of Karl XII. Obv.: Obv.: Bust of King Karl XII facing right, surrounded by the legend: CAROL XII D G REX SVEC (Carolus XII Dei Gratia Rex Sueciae - Charles XII, by the grace of God, King of Sweden). Rev.: Inscription in six lines: ICH FURCHTE MICH NICHT FÜR VIEL HUNDERT TAUSEN DEN, DIE SICHUMB HERWIEDER MICH LEGEN. Ps. 3. ("I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around" Psalm. 3.). Below, the inscription Stralsund 1715.
