Rv. Athalaric stands facing forward with his head turned to the right, holding a spear in his right hand and leaning his left hand on a shield. D N ATHAL - ARICVS around, S-C in the fields, with an X (denoting the denomination = 10) in the left field.

Municipal coinage of Rome during the reign of Athalaric, the king of the Ostrogoths. Athalaric on the reverse appears to have his head facing left, unlike the usual depiction facing right.
