This coin shows that the silver content of this ruler's antoninian coins was still high enough (in practice, reaching around 30-40%) that counterfeiting them was profitable at the time. The situation changed significantly after 251, when the devaluation of the antoninian accelerated significantly, making forgery of the antoninian unprofitable.
