For the coinage of 1889, the archives are missing and the only information available is provided by E. Dewamin (vol. 2, p.327 and note 4). The participation of the Monnaie de Paris in the 1889 exhibition allowed A. Borrel to mint coin-shaped tokens in front of the public using a steam-powered balance beam. Another coin press was also on display, but the 1889 coins were certainly minted at the Monnaie de Paris and not at the Exhibition.
