The Wolf of Rome surmounting the Lion of Judah.Probably celebrating the conquest of Ethiopia (which entered Addis Ababa in 1936) during the twenty-year Fascist period. However, the lack of Fascist symbolism on the piece suggests it is a memorabilia from the late 19th century, when the Italian colonization campaign in Eritrea and Ethiopia was underway, but certainly before the defeat in the Battle of Adwa in 1895, which forced Italy to recognize Ethiopia's sovereignty.Bronze on a marble base, with a patina of age. Measures approximately 19 x 12 cm.
