拍品說明
估計: 800 - 1 000 EUR
Original of one of the leaflets prepared to be dropped over Vienna on August 9, 1918, by the seven aircraft of the "La Serenissima" squadron led by the poet Gabriele d'Annunzio. This leaflet bears the caption "Sky of Vienna - August 9, 1918" and the signature NATALE PALLI, both handwritten in black ink by Captain Natale Palli, the pilot of the SVA in which Commander Gabriele d'Annunzio flew.Paper leaflet, uniface, printed in 50,000 copies in Italian with the text prepared by D'Annunzio, which reads:"On this August morning, as the fourth year of your desperate convulsion draws to a close and the year of our full power luminously begins, the tricolor wing suddenly appears to you as a sign of destiny turning. Destiny turns. It turns toward us with ironclad certainty. The hour of that Germany that drags you, humiliates you, and infects you is gone forever. Your hour has passed. Just as our faith was the strongest, now our will prevails and will prevail until the end. The victorious fighters of the Piave, the victorious fighters of the Marne feel it, know it, with an exhilaration that multiplies their impetus. But if impetus were not enough, numbers would be enough; and this is said for those who are accustomed to fighting ten against one. The Atlantic is a path that It's already closing; and it's a heroic path, as demonstrated by the newest pursuers who have stained the Ourcq with German blood. On the wind of victory rising from the rivers of freedom, we have come only for the joy of daring, we have come only to test what we can dare and do whenever we want, at the hour we choose. The roar of the young Italian wing does not resemble that of the funeral bronze in the morning sky. Yet the joyful audacity suspends an irrevocable sentence between Santo Stefano and the Graben, O Viennese. Long live Italy! It measures 23,5 x 17 cm and is in excellent condition. For the enterprise, Ugo Ojetti was also commissioned to write one, which included the following text:"VIENNESE! Learn to know the Italians. We fly over Vienna; we could drop tons of bombs. We only send you a three-color salute: the three colors of freedom. We Italians do not wage war on children, on the elderly, on women. We wage war on your government, the enemy of national freedoms, on your blind, stubborn, cruel government that can give you neither peace nor bread, and feeds you with hatred and illusions. VIENNESE! You have a reputation for being intelligent. But why did you put on the Prussian uniform? By now, you see, the whole world has turned against you. You want to continue the war? Continue it, it's your suicide. What do you hope for? The decisive victory promised you by the Prussian generals? Their decisive victory is like the bread of Ukraine: one dies waiting for it. PEOPLE OF VIENNA, think about your own problems. Wake up! LONG LIVE THE FREEDOM! LONG LIVE ITALY! LONG LIVE THE ENTESA!
