Bartholomeo Spadino the Younger, (1696 - 1738)-, Pair of paintings FRUIT STILL LIFE

A finely executed pair of Baroque still life compositions, each featuring an opulent arrangement of fruit against a dark, atmospheric background.
One painting displays clusters of white and red grapes intertwined with vine leaves, accompanied by ripe figs and plums scattered along the lower foreground.
The companion piece depicts deep red grape clusters suspended from a vine, beneath which a black bird pecks at fruit laid upon a ledge, including figs, plums, and a pomegranate.


Characteristic of Spadino’s refined Roman still life tradition, the works are marked by rich, earthy tones, dramatic chiaroscuro, and meticulous attention to texture — from the translucency of grape skins to the velvety surfaces of figs. Oil on canvas. 75 x 46 cm each.
