Johann Christian Vollerdt (1708–1769), Landscape with Ruins. Johann Christian Vollerdt was a student of the landscape painter Alexander Thiele (1685–1752) in Dresden. On a hill rises a picturesque, ancient ruin with a fountain that refreshes travelers and invites them to rest. In the background the view goes over a wide, hilly, wooded landscape.
