Teodor Pawłowicz, one of Warsaw's most prominent goldsmiths, co-author of the statute of the goldsmiths' and jewelers' guild in Warsaw. His goldsmith's workshop, active between 1784 and 1794, produced mainly table and service silverware preserving the stylistic features of Stanislawski classicism. They were intended for wealthy recipients, including the royal court and aristocratic families. The vase represents an early work by the goldsmith, possibly made to order for the royal court in Warsaw. Warsaw signed goldsmith works in the Rococo style. especially so magnificent, are extremely rare.
