These two monumental wood reliefs, carved around 1520 in the Tyrol region, are exceptional examples of late Gothic and early Renaissance sculpture. Each relief features a vertical composition of seated figures, likely representing a series of saints, prophets, or apostles.
The figures are arranged on a dark red ground, framed by a delicate, gilded vine motif that curls and interweaves between them. The reliefs showcase the sculptor’s skill through the detailed carving of the figures' flowing robes, expressive faces, and hands holding scrolls, books, or other attributes. The bold use of color, with deep red, rich blues, and shimmering gold, is characteristic of the period and adds to the striking visual impact of the pieces. Carved and polychrome wood. Height approximately 148 cm and 155 cm respectively
