This significant Gothic sculpture, attributed to a master from Cologne around 1420-30, depicts Saint Peter, one of the twelve apostles. He is shown standing, holding his two traditional attributes: a large key in his right hand, symbolizing his role as the keeper of the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, and a book in his left, representing the Gospels.
The figure's expressive face, with its high forehead and thoughtful beard, and the strong vertical lines of his robe with its heavy folds are characteristic of the Late Gothic . Carved and polychrome wood H 162 cm
