Silver (Christ) and silvered metal (column). 18,5 x 6,8 x 6,8 cm
The model of this interesting "Christ at the Column" should definitely be ascribed to the sphere of the great Renaissance sculptor Guglielmo della Porta. There are similar models published in the sculptor's monography and also kept in important international museums and private collections.
The Christ is mounted on a beautiful silver metal base. The column is finely chiseled, but may be realized later than the Christ, as it is made according to neoclassical taste.
