Claude Michel Clodion,
1738 France - 1814 ibid.
NYMPH AND FAUN
Height: 77 cm.
Signed "Clodion" in the cast on the stand.
Cast bronze, dark brown patina. Smooth base above an oval stand with a standing nymph and a seated satyr on her shoulder. The satyr holds the beauty by his left leg, blocking him with her left arm. An impressive sculpture that emphasizes the artist's preference for mythological subjects and classicism. (1421785) (1) (10))
