Biography
Artist associated with sculpture, drawing and installation. His work is characterized by simplicity of form, which plays the role of a link between the distant past and the present. He constantly returns to the cycle of chains, which can be elaborate stacks or single links. They refer to history and the symbol of infinity. He was educated at the Warsaw and Krakow Academies of Fine Arts, as well as the Paris Academie des Beaux-Arts and the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. Since 1996, he has been in Mexico where he established a collaboration with the prominent sculptor Juan Soriano. Some of the artist's most important works were created during this period. Noteworthy are the series of objects created for the Four Seasons Hotel in Punta Mita or the sculpture "Chain of Infinity" standing permanently at the entrance to the Rufino Tamayo Museum, The artist has participated in many residency programs. He has held more than 70 solo exhibitions around the world, including at Liu Haisu Museum in Shanghai, Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery, Museo Carillo Gil, Museo Rufino Tamayo and Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico. His works can be admired in the renovated manor house in Dankovo, with which the artist's family has been connected for generations.
