Zygmunt Nirnstein is a great portrait painter, creator of posters (including Leprechaun 1939, Bolek and Lolek 1936) and author of numerous caricatures (including Wojciech Kossak, Kazimierz Lasocki, Ordonówna). In the interwar period he was associated with the Skamandrites. Among others, he cooperated with the Warsaw theater "Qui pro quo" (1919-1931), for which he painted decorations.
One of the artist's more famous paintings was a portrait of Hanka Ordonówna, exhibited in Zachęta in 1932, where it aroused great interest. Unfortunately, his image has not survived.
