Sake drinking bowls for two Hyottoko and Otafuku

Created by master ceramicist Shinjan Mori, who bears the honor of being named a Living National Treasure of Japan. This is a title awarded to the most outstanding masters of arts and crafts from the Land of the Cherry Blossom. The asymmetrical shapes of the dishes with concaves on the sides blend beautifully with the faces painted on the inside. On the white surface of the cracked glaze, we can admire the faces of a couple: an elderly lady and an elderly gentleman, and on the outside there are signatures that we have managed to decipher: Hyottoko and Otafuku. These are well-known characters from Japanese theater, represented by masks worn by actors. In the original wooden box with a certificate made of handmade paper, decorated with gold and silver flakes.
