Lot description
Decorative vase lamp made of French faience, decorated with hand-painted scenes in the style of farm life. On one side, a scene with an old doctor ("le médecin") treating a patient is accompanied by the Latin inscription "tinct: Vulnerar" (probably referring to medicinal tinctures). The other side shows a rustic architectural motif with an open door and a wooden bench.The elegantly shaped body of the vase is complemented by two lugs and contrasting ornamental details in the form of stylized plant motifs on the top and bottom. The vase was transformed into a table lamp with a fringed fabric shade.
