KPM handle vase with Lennep - Remscheid in the decoration
KPM Berlin, 1849 - 1870, porcelain polychrome painted and gold painted, height approx. 42 cm, manufactory mark on the underside, condition B, partially rubbed, small stress cracks inside. The design of the magnificent vase is based on the 1606 model with matt gold-plated griffin handles. The city view on the front shows Lennep-Remscheid. The motif was confirmed by the Lennep Cloth Museum through Mr Werner von Wismar and by the Remscheid City Museum, represented by Dr Diedrichs. Inscribed on the reverse in a cartouche crowned with golden laurels 'In memory of the father city'. The Schlossbauverein of Schloss Burg in Solingen owns a similar vase.
