The sculpture was entirely handmade of solid, extremely heavy glass in the unique, historical technique of calcedonia (chalcedony glass).Chalcedony glass is one of the most difficult and sought-after varieties of art glass in the world. The recipe, achieved by adding silver nitrate to the molten mass, allows to reproduce the fluid texture, depth and layered striations of natural striped agate. Each tonal transition visible inside the obelisk is unique - light penetrating through the solid reveals a fascinating play of earthy, honey-colored and dark, almost black layers.The obelisk is set on elegant geometric details and a cylindrical, deep black base, which perfectly contrasts with the dynamic interior of the main body.
