Rafał Olbiński (born February 21, 1943, in Kielce) is a Polish painter, graphic artist, and poster designer, and one of the leading figures of the Polish School of Posters. His work has received numerous awards at many international competitions. In 1995, he won first prize in the “New York City Capital of the World” competition for a poster promoting New York as the capital of the world. In 1994, he won the so-called International Oscar for the world’s most memorable poster in the “Prix Savignac” competition in Paris, and in 1976, he won first prize in a competition organized by the Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
