Very rare copper issue minted to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First Partition of Poland in 1772, issued in 1872 in Augsburg. The centennial celebrations took place in Lviv, organized by the Lviv City Council. Guests from Kraków, Poznań, and other Polish cities participated. It was for this occasion that the Lviv committee ordered the minting of medals in tin, bronze, and copper.
