An official replica of the 1925 “Nicolaus Copernicus” 100 zlotych coin design, minted in 2006 by Mennica Polska S.A. to commemorate the 240th anniversary of the Polish Mint.
The design is based on a trial coin from the Second Polish Republic period, created by Stanisław Szukalski. The reverse depicts Nicolaus Copernicus in a distinctive, avant-garde composition.
The replica is made of gold-plated tombac. The limited edition consisted of 3,000 sets.
