Stefan Batory, 1579 Grosz, Olkusz - rare
Variety with the king's narrow head housed in the inner border.
Inscribed variety with the titular STEPHANVS...POLON on the obverse.
Condition: NGC AU55
Characteristic of this type of coin, central scarcity, but a beautifully preserved piece. Intense luster and mint mirror. A very high NGC grade for this type (only two coins scored higher). A rare coin and difficult to find on the collector market. An attractive piece.
