A large, elaborately decorated decorative frame featuring a rich combination of giltwood carving and painted floral accents. The piece is distinguished by a prominent crest topped with an oil-painted panel depicting a pastoral allegorical scene with figures in a landscape. The frame is further adorned with gilded shell motifs at the corners and central rectangular panels hand-painted with vibrant floral arrangements on a black ground. Giltwood and painted wood, 20th century, 134 x 72 cm.
