Coral chariot horn

red Mediterranean coral (Corallum Rubrum), in the shape of a horn carved to depict the face of the god of Greek mythology Pan, god of mountains and rural life, companion of mountain nymphs, protector of herds, lover of dance and music. Usually equipped with goat horns, a long beard and curly hair, such elements are present in this sculpture.The work is identified as a carriage horn and is presented with its appropriate hook-like support, made of metal. The horn is a symbol of protection and good luck, often worn as an amulet to ward off bad luck and the evil eye. In particular, when the horn is made of coral, a material also considered to carry positive and protective energies, the amulet takes on an even stronger symbolic value.Height x width x depth coral: 12.5 x 4 x 5 cm.
