Coral horn with Bacchus

Red Mediterranean coral (Corallum Rubrum), carved in the shape of Bacchus, god of wine, fertility, pleasure, music, theatre and festivals in Greek and Roman mythology. The figure of Bacchus is often depicted with a crown of vines, symbolising abundance and liberation.
