The precious Taj Mahal collection was released in 2002, to pay homage to the iconic mausoleum's enduring story of love and its architectural splendour. The inspiration for this collection stems from the romantic tale of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and his queen, Mumtaz Mahal, for whom the Taj Mahal was built as a tomb. This pen was designed to capture the beauty of the monument and to replicate the powerful emotions it is connected with. Body and cap are lacquered in pearlescent white to evoke the shimmering white marble of the Taj Mahal, while slim, platinum-plated curves are used to create floral motifs reminiscent of those carved on the monument. The cap is enriched with a green alpinite stone which enhances the brilliance of the glittering enamel. The pen is housed in a shining white box with light grey decoration.
