Set of 6 buttons made of polished mother-of-pearl shell, with hand-engraved letter M and archduke's crown.
The buttons belonged to Mechtylda of the Habsburg family of Zywiec, wife of Olgierd Czartoryski of Sielec. They were a decoration for evening wear; the exquisite and careful workmanship is noteworthy.
