Gilded frame with a canvas mat

The frame is constructed of several profiled layers, richly decorated with ornamentation. Its decoration consists of a granulated band and a serpentine motif, which lend the whole piece a sense of lightness and rhythmic movement. The most important element of the decoration is the stylized rocaille motifs, complemented by floral ornamentation arranged along the edges and corners of the main profile. The decorative composition is harmonious, and the details are executed with great precision, emphasizing the frame’s Rococo-inspired character.
Condition: very good; only slight soiling and scuffs are visible in the ornamental areas.
