The medal was minted in 1928 to mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Bank of Poland, one of the most important financial institutions in Polish history. The obverse features two busts facing to the right - of Prince Ksawery Drucki-Lubecki and Count Ludwik Jelski, who played a key role in establishing the bank. The rim bears the inscription "KSAWERY LUBECKI - HR. LUDWIK JELSKI", and at the bottom the date 1828 - 6.V.1928, referring to the anniversary of the establishment of the institution. The reverse shows a central inscription placed in a rectangular frame, which emphasizes the importance of the Bank of Poland, reactivated in 1924, as a mainstay of monetary order in the reborn Second Republic, as well as expressing spiritual connection with the age-old institution and gratitude to citizens who supported the National Treasury. The whole is decorated with a coat of arms with an eagle in a shield and laurel wreaths symbolizing the merits and permanence of the institution. At the bottom is stamped the Roman date MCMXXVIII, indicating the year the medal was minted.
