Obv.: Depicts a soldier and a sailor facing left, surrounded by the inscription "ЗА ОБОРОНУ СЕВАСТОПОЛЯ" ("FOR THE DEFENSE OF SEVASTOPOL").Rev.: Features the inscription "ЗА НАШУ СОВЕТСКУЮ РОДИНУ" ("FOR OUR SOVIET MOTHERLAND") and a hammer and sickle emblem.Ribbon: Olive green with a central blue stripe. The Medal "For the Defense of Sevastopol" was established on December 22, 1942, by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. It was awarded to participants of the defense of Sevastopol, including servicemen of the Red Army, Navy, NKVD troops, and civilians who directly contributed to the city's defense between October 30, 1941, and July 4, 1942.
