Marek Piasecki was one of the most prominent Polish photographers. Active since the late 1940s, he met other Polish artists at that time, including Zdzislaw Beksinski, with whom he formed a close friendship - the artists not only carried on a lively correspondence, but Piasecki also visited Beksinski in Sanok. In the following years, he produced a number of his portrait photographs, as well as those depicting him in his studio.
