Biography
Artist, curator, performer. He was the publisher and editor-in-chief of the cult independent magazine “Trzaskopismo,” as well as the founder of the guerrilla group “Rano,” which performed in unexpected locations in public spaces. Saciłowski is known for projects in which he uses found materials, giving them a new artistic dimension. Among other things, the artist works with photographic techniques, analyzing the essence of photography. In creating these works, he uses waste materials and marginalia, focusing primarily on their visual qualities: color, scale, and the skillful capture of light within the image. His descriptions of these works include technical terms that highlight the specific nature of the artist’s explorations and experiments in this field. Using found images and material scraps from photographic laboratories, Saciłowski creates compositions that are striking in their formal beauty. He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. His works are included in the collections of the Museum of the History of Photography in Kraków and the Mazovian Center for Contemporary Art “Elektrownia” in Radom.
