2x 100 Polish mark banknotes , 1916 PROTOTYPE (MUSTER), prototype sets of this denomination, consisting of two banknotes—the obverse and reverse separately:
1) Single-sided printing of the obverse (reverse unprinted) on original paper, with the watermark specific to this denomination, featuring the diagonal overprint “Muster” in red and the horizontal perforation “DRUCKPROBE.” A sample of the variant with a clause, featuring the correctly used word “Generał.”
2) Single-sided printing of the reverse (obverse unprinted) on original paper, with the watermark specific to this denomination, featuring a diagonal “Muster” overprint in red and a horizontal “DRUCKPROBE” perforation, with series designation A and zero serial number: 0000000
The 1916 GG Polish mark issue designs are among the rarest in Polish banknotes; acquiring even a single piece is difficult. In this auction, due to the poor condition of both banknotes, this will be a budget-friendly lot and an opportunity to purchase a very rare, complete design.
Both banknotes have been graded by GDA, with a grading note appropriate to their condition.
