Biography
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. For years, he focused on realism and academic technique. Currently, he strives for greater freedom and synthesis, creating art in which the complexity of content coexists with a simplified, synthetic form. The mood of his works is meant to evoke memories of childhood play—a carefree state in which seriousness and absurdity, anxiety and humor can coexist. He avoids verbalizing his work, believing that mixing linguistic and visual codes distorts the viewer’s perception of the piece. The symbolism in his work is not the result of a conscious construction of meaning, but stems from an intuitive process and subconscious associations. He has begun to employ new working methods that utilize his own thought experiments, based on Carl Jung’s Active Imagination, to explore and represent subconscious content in a world-creating manner, and to juxtapose it with more intentionally introduced motifs. In his artistic career to date, he has won numerous awards and honors, including second place in the “Nowa Fala. Painting, the Special Award from the Wozownia Art Gallery, the FIGURAMA Grand Prix in Prague, and the Mayor of Gdynia Award as part of the 17th edition Best Artistic Diplomas, as well as being a finalist in the 15th Geppert Competition. His works have been presented in solo and group exhibitions, and his pieces are included, among others, in the Krupa Art Foundation collection. In the fall of 2026, he will begin his studies at the Doctoral School of the University of Silesia, while simultaneously developing his artistic practice and unique creative language.
