Biography
He was a graphic artist. In 1926, he became the first chair of applied graphics at the State School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He was a co-founder and member of the “Ryt” association. He focused primarily on commercial art (banknotes, postage stamps, book covers and illustrations, posters, bookplates, fabric and lamp designs), genre art, religious art, and landscape art (primarily lithographs and color woodcuts). He tended toward stylization influenced by folk and Japanese woodcut traditions.
