Biography
He studied chemistry and biology at the University of Dorpat (Estonia). In 1890, he settled in Warsaw and devoted himself to painting. He was friends with Władysław Podkowiński and Józef Pankiewicz, with whom he traveled to Italy in 1893. Starting in 1907, he turned to printmaking. He invented the techniques of ceratography and grain engraving. The subjects of his works were mainly architectural views. From 1897, he was a member of the “Sztuka” Association of Polish Artists.
