Lot information
A cord with an elegant woven basket guard made in the style of arms of the 17th century. The blade is straight, double-edged, with visible traces of corrosion and an illegible stamped mark. The pommel of the sword is bulbous, ending in a small central rivet, attached to the hilt, which is wrapped with wire wrapping. The handle is slightly tapered towards the guard, which allows for a firm grip.
The guard consists of several elegantly curved steel bars that protect the fighter's hand. The saucer-shaped cover of the canopy is decorated with etched ornaments with floral and geometric motifs, typical of the period of the 17th century.
