Lot information
Originating from Tibet and China, the niuweidao double sword is a traditional martial weapon that features curved, single-sharpened blades housed together in a single scabbard. This type of sword was popular with warriors and practitioners of the martial arts as it allowed both blades to be quickly drawn and simultaneously used in combat. The blades have distinct grooves and are engraved with markings, likely related to the weapon's workshop or origin. The hilts are covered in stingray skin for better grip, with brass fittings at the ends, with one sword having a rounded pommel and the other a disc-shaped tip. The scabbard is wooden, covered with stingray skin and decorated with brass mounts with engraved ornaments.
