Rare handwritten text by Czech conductor, composer, and music critic Josef Stránský, who served as the music director of the New York Philharmonic from 1911 to 1923, succeeding Gustav Mahler. Stránský was renowned not only for his conducting artistry but also as a collector and art dealer.The text, written in German, contains a humorous rhymed recommendation for the Huněk restaurant, loosely translated as: "Láska prochází žaludkem, proto vám radím: navštivte hostinec u Huněka, budete velmi spokojeni!" (Love passes through the stomach, so I advise you: visit the Huněk restaurant, you will be very pleased!)
