Obverse: Features a relief image of Admiral Ushakov, encircled by the inscription "АДМИРАЛ УШАКОВ" ("ADMIRAL USHAKOV") at the top and laurel branches at the bottom. The medal is superimposed on an anchor. Reverse: Plain, with the medal's serial number engraved. Ribbon: The medal is suspended from a pentagonal mount covered by a silk moiré ribbon of blue color with white and blue stripes along the edges. ture is the anchor chain placed over the ribbon, connecting the medal to the mount. The Ushakov Medal was a Soviet military award established on March 3, 1944, by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. It was named in honor of Admiral Fyodor Ushakov, a celebrated Russian naval commander. The medal was awarded to sailors, soldiers, petty officers, sergeants, warrant officers, and midshipmen of the Navy and naval units of the Border Troops for courage and bravery displayed in the defense of the socialist homeland on maritime theaters, both during wartime and peacetime.
