100 zlotych banknote from 1939, part of the so-called “emigration issue” (printed by TDLR in London)
The banknote is fully printed; however, the series and serial number blocks are printed on paper without a watermark, in a color scheme slightly different from the one ultimately approved. On the obverse of the banknote is a handwritten annotation by Karol Chybiński, then technical director of PWPW, bearing his signature. It is a note regarding organizational matters related to the banknote’s color scheme.
In this form, it is a truly unique piece, a R10 rarity, known to exist in only this single piece.
An exceptionally beautiful piece, confirmed by a very high PMG grading score for this type, with an EPQ notation attesting to the exceptional quality of the paper.
